ParcBIT, HUSE, UIB – Energy Supply

Generation, distribution, and commercialization of energy in ParcBIT, Son Espases Hospital, and the University of the Balearic Islands
Partner:
Project objectives
Sector:
Energy
  • Supply electrical energy to three essential institutions in the Balearic Islands, through the construction of a 66 kV REE transport electrical substation and a 15 kV distribution substation.
Challenges
  • Develop an electrical system that provides energy to the then-new Son Espases hospital: without the construction of the substation, it could not have opened its doors.
Result
  • SCADA infrastructure that gave rise to the current CCSE, energy dispatch to the REE that currently sends data from 9 plants (CHP, FV) throughout the Spanish territory.
  • Establish Sampol as an energy distribution company in the Balearic Islands.

If a mobile device does not work without its charged battery, an infrastructure will suffer the same fate if it does not receive sufficient energy supply. Large equipment needs to ensure a constant operation of its equipment, which is achieved if they receive sufficient energy resources.

Thanks to this project, SAMPOL secured a continuous energy supply (generation, distribution, and commercialization) for ParcBIT, the University of the Balearic Islands and the Hospital of Son Espases. With the addition of ensuring the latter’s inauguration: before installing the electrical substation, the hospital was inactive, finalizing its construction for an upcoming opening. Likewise, the company was established as an energy distributor in Mallorca. Today they operate with green energies on the way to an energy transition.
